Travelodge Ashton under Lyne

Lapwing Ln, Audenshaw, Ashton-Under-Lyne M34 5QL, UK – 0871 984 6284

Close to the tram line, which takes you into Manchester/Ashton. Very friendly staff and located near a retail park. Has it's own car park. Highly recommended, as a budget stay. I was really pleased with every aspect of my stay here in July 2018.

Decent hotel. Staff are very friendly and will help you out with knowledge of the area if you've never been before like me! Room was fairly clean but worn out - single beds were rock hard and very uncomfortable. Double beds are softer. Fairly good shower, tea and coffee facilities are available. Vending machine in lobby has a lot of choice. Good cheap choice for anyone visiting the area. 3 min walk to the tram station which is super useful. The Sheldon Arms (pub next to the hotel) is brilliant if you're looking for food. WiFi is paid-for and limited to two devices per code. Breakfast box was okay but overpriced, I'd avoid and go to the pub for breakfast.

Holiday Inn Express Manchester - East

Debdale Park, Hyde Rd, Manchester M18 7LJ, UK – 0871 902 1547

Staff were all very polite and very welcoming. We had two adults, one child and one baby staying in one room. The room itself was clean and tidy. However they did not provide a travel cot so we took ours. The second bed was a sofa bed which honestly should have been thrown in the bin. My 2 yr old slept on it just but it wouldn't be suitable for an older child or adult as you could feel every bar and it was collapsing. There was a fan in the room which was a lovely addition. No bath just a shower so we had to wash the baby in the sink. Not the easiest thing to do. No hair dryer. You had to call the reception for hotel essentials. The dinner menu is basic and a little pricey. The food was nice but there was no choice of any vegetables with any of the meals. Breakfast staff were really helpful, they provided high chairs. I saw them check the temperature of the breakfast which was lovely to see. There was a choice of hot or cold breakfast, toast, fruit, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice and apple juice. We stayed 2 nights and only one breakfast morning provided any water to drink. The next morning we had to ask someone to fill our bottle which they did no problem. Plenty of parking. Overall it was an ok stay. We wouldn't stay here again though.

The room was very hot in this hot summer, and even with the fan that was helpfully provided and the window open it wouldn't cool down to a comfortable temperature. But that was the *only* negative. The staff were great and very helpful; the breakfast was good; rooms were clean; sofabed in the family room was fine.

Premier Inn Manchester Denton

Alphagate Drive, Manchester Rd South, Denton M34 3SH, UK – 0871 527 8708

We stayed only 1 night 18-19th June 2018. We were warmly welcomed by staff with happy smiling faces, who were also very friendly and as helpful as they could be. Nothing seemed to be a problem in anyway. We actually had a trailer with us and they ensured it was located within view of their CCTV - they kept watch on it and gave us a room close to it as well. The room was clean and nicely presented. The staff at the Brewer's Fayre were also just as welcoming and friendly. Again they were just as determined to ensure we were happy and relaxed. The food was also very good as with the service. Altogether we found this a top place to stay with a nice warm friendly atmosphere and clean. Highly recommended and yes we will go back again. Well done everyone you all work well together and make a great team - thank you.

Very good value. The only reason I have not given them five stars is because the room was freezing at first because the window was wide open on a freezing cold day. It took ages to get room to a nice level. offers competitive rates for any type of hotel, from small independent hotels to a five star luxury ones. Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Clydemount Guest House

Debdale Park, 866 Hyde Rd, Manchester M18 7LH, UK – 0161 231 1515

Just booked a room over the phone for our stay for Parklife Festival and impeccable service from the lovely man on the phone, Kevin. Helped provide information for transportation around the city and providing us with taxi numbers etc. Look forward to staying here !

Travelled from Germany to Manchester and stayed 4 nights at the Clydemount. I had a great stay. The facility was excellent with a clean spacious room and a comfortable bed and TV. Very quiet though its close to the main road. Local supermarkets, parks, bus stops, and 4 pubs are within reach (5 min walk). Bathrooms are shared but they are very clean and spacious as well. The biggest advantage of the Clydemount is, besides the proximity to public transport to manchester city centre, the service provided by the proprietors. Kevin was very polite and more than helpful. He is a great guy and will help you wherever it is possible. 100% Recommendation!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
